Tanzania trip to climb Kilimanjaro
Great trip to Tanzania. Was able to climb Mount Meru in a day followed by a day of rest before my climb to the top of Kilimanjaro in 16:36.
Umbwe Gate start time at 5:52 am (5249 ft) -> 2:40 Umbwe Cave Camp (9514 ft)-> 2:58 Barranco Camp (13044 ft) -> 2:24 Karanga Camp (13106 ft) -> 1:28 Barafu Camp (15331 ft) -> 4:28 Summit at Uhuru Peak at 10:28 pm (19341 ft). Small break at Barafu camp for a Mountain House Chili Mac. Felt pretty good apart from 2 hours from the summit when I got a little delirious- not sure if from sleep deprivation or altitude. Summit time was a good bit slower because of that. Climbed Mount Meru (14980 ft) a day prior which left my legs pretty sore for Kili but all good. Price of BTC $104k
